Telstra under dispute again

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has been called in yet again to negotiate access disputes between Telstra and competing carriers Primus and AAPT.

The separate disputes both relate to the terms and conditions on which Telstra supplies Primus and AAPT with wholesale local calls.

Referred to as the Local Carriage service, the service enables other carriers to offer local calls to end users by accessing Telstra's network.

The ACCC was notified of the disputes by Primus and AAPT on March 7 and March 21, respectively.

According to officials, arbitration has begun in both instances.
