Telstra before the ACCC again

In the fourth matter to be taken before the Australia Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) , Cable & Wireless Optus is dragging Telstra back to the Commission over local carriage services.

This access dispute relates to the terms and conditions on which Telstra supplies C&W Optus with local carriage service. Local carriage service involves the supply of wholesale local calls using Telstra's network and enables Telstra's competitors to provide local calls to end users.

According to the ACCC, local carriage services were recently declared following an inquiry into competition for local telephony services.

Officials said the ACCC has begun the arbitration process.
