Data#3 goes online with Business Partner Network

Data#3 launched on Friday its Business Partner Network (BPN), an online portal for customers to connect to the network integrator.

According to officials, the solution is the first in a number of e-commerce related projects Data#3 expects to announce in the next few months.

Part of Data#3's eBusiness strategy, BPN provides an electronic means for customers to conduct their business with Data#3.

John Grant, Data#3's managing director, said the network will increase efficiencies and save costs for customers by enabling them to view product information, availability and pricing online. Customers will also be able to make purchases and review support queries electronically.

"For example, a single purchase order by any one of our customers can costs as much as $50. When you change the purchase and requisitioning over to an electronic model, this cost drops to less than $10," Grant said.

In addition to providing the service to customers, Data#3 is also offering BPN as a product in itself.

"This means that organisations are able to implement a fully customisable Windows NT Server and BackOffice-based online procurement system that can encompass their own customers and suppliers," Grant said.
