Fujitsu and Amdahl announced yesterday they have merged operations in Australia and New Zealand to form a joint organisation.
Trading under the name of Fujitsu Australia, the new organisation becomes effective today.
Fujitsu will continue as the majority shareholder and Fujitsu's Neville Roach will continue as chairman and CEO of the expanded companyAccording to officials, under the restructure Amdahl will continue to operate as a business unit within the new organisation.
Officials announced Steve Liscoe, most recently vice president for Amdahl's north American software division, has been appointed vice president and general manager of the business unit.
Fujitsu is owned 71 per cent by Fujitsu of Japan, 18 per cent by International Computers of Britain and 11 per cent by Amdahl in the US.
DMR Consulting Group, also part of the Fujitsu Amdahl group will remain as a separate legal entity.
