Mitel calls for SME resellers

Mitel is looking to sign an additional 40 resellers for its new low-end integrated IP telephony gear.

The communications vendor will recruit partners under its recently reorganised partner program.

Silver partners would primarily be recruited via distributors, Uptime and Telstra Business Systems, Mitel Australia managing director, Gwilym Funnell, said. The vendor was particularly keen to boost its number of Victorian and regional-based resellers, he said.

The sales push coincides with the global release of Mitel's 3300CXi integrated communications system for organisations with less than 50 seats.

Funnell said Mitel had identified increasing local demand through a customer survey for a low-end integrated voice, video and data services solution.

"The low-end market is becoming a more sophisticated buyer of IP-related products," he said.

Target customers for the 3300CXi included multi-site organisations and budget conscious local councils, Funnell said.

Resellers will have access to bundled training, demonstration systems and marketing collateral. New partners also had the option of installation revenues but could rely on technical backup from its distributors if they preferred, Funnell said.
