Primus fires up the enterprise market with IN

Primus is adding some fuel to its effort to grow its corporate customer base through introducing a new Intelligent Networking (IN) service.

The service, developed by eServGlobal, will be deployed to enterprise customers on a per-situation pricing basis.

"We don't have any set pricing but customers who commit to longer term contracts with Primus will most likely get better deals," said general manager of Primus Strategy, products and development, Campbell Sallabank.

The technology dynamically routes calls while providing managers with online performance reporting, and increased user functionality.

The "smart technology" can provide call distribution and call duration reports, as well as answer point reports sorted by geography, post code and time of day. It can also provide marketing information on call source and volumes.

Users operating call centres or inbound 1800, 1300 and 13 prefixes, as well as security companies and others using 'back-to-base' services stand to gain significant benefits from the IN services, according to a Primus media release.

Sallabank said this product was one of a number that will be introduced as part of Primus' plans to grow its corporate base.

"We'll have ongoing developments in the enterprise space. We've recently re-employed a very robust state management team in that area. So this is part of enhancing that product set," he said.

The IN builds on the development of Primus's own next generation DSL infrastructure around Australia with close to 200 DSLAMs being installed in exchanges around Australia for 2005.
