Information Builders Inc. is allying with custom software provider Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. to offer customers tools and services that will allow them to transfer companies from legacy reporting environments to the Web.
New York-based Information Builders, which provides business intelligence through technologies such as its WebFocus platform, said Wednesday that customers are now being offered "e-Transformation solutions" through its joint venture with Cognizant.
The companies plan to leverage WebFocus to offer companies Web-based reporting tools that can access data across all environments and applications through the use of a Web browser.
The software and services will benefit companies with legacy reporting tools or database environments such as Easytrieve, SAS, NOMAD, Ramis, Mark TV, Model1204, Cobol, Ideal and others, the companies said. Additionally, tools will support formats such as e-mail, Excel, PDF and Web pages.
Information Builders said that it already shares some major customer accounts with Teaneck, New Jersey, Cognizant, making the alliance a good fit.
