The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is looking for tax and superannuation software developers to join a consultative group.
According to the ATO, the term will soon expire for current members of the Software Developers Consultative Group (SDCG), and the organisation is interested in working with a new slew of developers.
The ATO website said members will play a consultative role in the introduction of new taxation measures.
“[Members] will be a representative of developers of tax and super software products for small, medium and large business segments,” the website reads.
Last month, the Federal Government opened its data to about 150 developers during its first hack day in Canberra.
The move to embrace Web 2.0 techniques is being driven by the Government 2.0 Taskforce. Successful applicants will be appointed for 12 months from January 2010. Visit the ATO website to apply.
The ATO change program, which aims to migrate the agency away from legacy and paper-based systems to a single, integrated core IT system, was last month dubbed “high risk” and mostly responsible for the office’s budget overspend last financial year.
