The Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research (DIISR) is to begin sourcing new ICT Infrastructure Support Services from April next year.
Under the new sourcing approach, DIISR will source desktop infrastructure support services, common network services, business systems infrastructure support services, cross platform services, transition services, and disengagement services.
In tender documents, DIISR said it expected that any contract entered into for the services would be for an initial term of three years, and that DIISR would have three options to extend the term on the same terms and conditions for additional periods of one year each time.
“The purpose of this procurement project is to develop and undertake a competitive tendering process that results in a solution that presents a best VFM [value for money] proposition and meets the business needs of DIISR,” the documents read.
DIISR was established in December 2007 and incorporates elements and activities of the former Departments of Industry, Tourism and Resources; Education, Science and Training; Employment and Workplace Relations; and Communications, Information Technology and the Arts.
