SAS certifications hit local market

Five certification skills have been introduced in Australia and New Zealand

SAS Australia and New Zealand has boosted its local offerings with the introduction of internationally recognised certification skills.

The SAS ANZ Certification program has rolled-out to Australia to mature its existing partner programs, according to SAS alliances senior business manager, Chris Tucker.

“It’s useful for companies to enhance their employees,” he said, adding that the company’s larger partners like IBM and Accenture have already jumped on board.

The certification is available in five disciplines:

  • SAS Business Intelligence
  • SAS Data Integration
  • SAS Platform Administration
  • SAS Enterprise Miner
  • SAS Version 9.2 Migration

Individuals can be certified in any or all of the disciplines with the prerequisite being experience and knowledge of SAS 9.2, and each certification exam will comprise of both theoretical and practical components.

Tucker said SAS has already been oversubscribed for its first examination, which takes place this month.

“We wanted to create vale for our partners and their teams and make sure our delivery people are kept up to date,” he said.

“Given the initial strong demand and strong interest from all of our partners, we’re expecting that whenever we want to hold [an examination], it will be full.”

While individuals will typically be employees of SAS partners, other experienced contractors are welcome to attain certification.
