ASG scoops $23m WA Department of Education contract

ASG will take care of the department's Oracle applications, database administration and server operations

ASX-listed services provider, ASG Group (ASX:ASZ) has scooped a $23 million deal with the Department of Education in Western Australia.

ASG will take care of the department's Oracle applications, database administration and server operations for three years with two one-year extensions available.

In a statement, Western Australia Department of Education CIO, Bevan Doyle said the department had "enjoyed a close working relationship with ASG for many years and during this time ASG has provided essential services and built a strong understanding of the Department’s mission critical Oracle applications environment".

The news comes after ASG reported a 25 per cent increase in full-year profits to $11.3 million for the 2008/09 financial year and a major deal in late June with Qantas worth $13 million.

This time last year the services provider also announced it had landed contracts worth $30 million.

The wins included the National Museum of Australia, the National Capital Authority, IP Australia, Airservices Australia, and a three-year contract with Symbion Pharmacy services.

It also secured project engagements with the Department of the Prime Minister and National Cabinet, the Australian National Government Water Commission, and Queensland Parliament House.
