Office 2000 Bug Fix Has Its Own Bugs

An update that was intended to resolve hundreds of bugs in Microsoft's Office 2000 package turns out to have a few glitches of its own.

Users who upgrade to Windows 2000 from Windows NT 4.0 and then try to install Office 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1) will have problems using Internet Explorer, a Microsoft spokesman said.

Anyone who is experiencing these problems should contact Microsoft customer support. SR-1 Update, a bug-fix for the bug-fix, should be available in about two weeks, he said.

SR-1 was released last week to cure more than 300 bugs discovered in Office 2000.
