HTC has confirmed its new smartphone, Desire, will be made available through Telstra from April 27.
The announcement was first made after the device’s unveiling at the Mobile World Conference in Barcelona in February.
HTC Desire will be available on a Tesltra Next G $60 consumer plan (phone only, option to add 150MB data on the $10 browsing pack) and $60 business phone plan (with 300MB data included).
Telstra has also put its weight behind Google's Android mobile operating system, announcing plans to make its applications available through the Android Market app store.
Desire will have integrated applications from Google, including Gmail and Google Calendar.
Bluetooth and USB tethering is available, but the smartphone cannot act as a wireless router.
