Telstra speeds things up with Ultimate USB launch

Doubles data speeds over Next G

Telstra has announced the launch of new mobile device capable of doubling of data speeds over the Next G network and scheduled for release by the end of this year.

The Telstra Ultimate USB will be able to download files or surf the Internet up to twice as fast as those using the next-fastest 3G modem currently available on an Australian national network, according to the company.

Along with releasing the device in metropolitan areas it has also made a point of rolling the device out to regional and rural Australia, such as Alice Springs, Newcastle and Broome.

Thodey also announced that the company had recently commissioned the company’s 7,000th Next base station.

Earlier this week Telstra also announced its plan to release its new digital set top box, T-Box, later in the month.
