The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is looking for a new chief information officer with an advertisement for the position running on the Australian Public Service jobs website.
The Canberra based role is described as a "new leadership position" where the candidate will "play a pivotal role in developing and delivering the next generation of business-enabling capabilities".
The news comes as the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research advertised for a general manager for its e-business division.
According to the job description, the department is looking for somebody to:
- Drive and deliver strategic, business-driven change in the management of the department’s ICT and information-management assets
- Provide leadership and direction in aligning ICT and information-management services with the business priorities of the department and create a strong service-delivery culture.
- Be accountable for the management of people, physical and financial resources and for the realisation of identified business benefits associated with the department’s ICT and information-management investments.
- Lead and manage a large, diverse and geographically-dispersed team.
