Apple hacks $40 off 16GB iPad price for Black Friday

Apple is slashing between $41 and $61 from the price of its ever-popular iPad 2 devices for one day this Friday.

According to information leaked to 9to5Mac, Apple will be selling its 16GB iPad model for $458 this Friday, or roughly $41 less than its regular price, while also lowering the prices of its 64GB and 32GB models down by $61 and $51, respectively. The company is also knocking $101 off the regular price for its laptop and desktop computers, including the MacBook Air, the MacBook Pro and the iMac. Apple has said that these discounts will only be available for one day as part of a "one-day Apple shopping event" on Black Friday.

These discounts should be a boon to the many consumers who have put Apple products at the tops of their holiday shopping lists this year. Data released this month by Nielsen showed that 44% of U.S. children between the ages of 6 and 12 are interested in getting an iPad within the next six months, while 30% said they wanted an iPod Touch and 27% said they wanted an iPhone. Among consumers age 13 or older, interest in buying an iPad within the next six months stands at 24% of consumers.
