Long-standing CSG (ASX:CSV) MD, Denis Mackenzie, has resigned from the role after 11 years with the company, with the company's general manager of technology, Julie-Ann Kerin, appointed to the role.
A CSG spokesperson told Computerworld Australia that Kerin's appointment would be effective on 31 January, with Mackenzie finishing up in the position today until 1 July when he intends to rejoin the business in a part-time executive role.
“Denis has always planned to step aside at some stage," the spokesperson said. "He had 11 years at the helm and the business has grown substantially.
“Over the summer break Denis came to the realisation that now was the right time to move on as part of his long terms plans.”
According to the spokesperson, his decision to leave the company was not directly affected by the cancelled acquisition process the company underwent late last year, after it received a non-binding off-market takeover offer. The spokesperson described the acquisition process as “an intense time” for Mackenzie who now "needs a break”.
The process was called off after some months and included a $340 million offer from another unnamed bidder with the Darwin-based company citing it would not result in a transaction which was in the best interest of its shareholders.
In a statement to the ASX, the company noted that further to the cancellation of the acquisition process, its revised net profit after tax (NPAT) for the half year ended 31 December 2011 will be in the range of $9 million - $11 million after the $2.1 million cost associated with the proposed transaction.
“This process was disruptive across our businesses which together with challenging trading conditions impacted on CSG’s financial performance in the latter part of the half year,” the statement reads. “While Technology Solutions and Print Services New Zealand performed broadly in line with management expectations, the impact was more significant in Print Services Australia.”
Kerin leaves her role as group general manager of the Technology Solutions division, where she has worked for the past four years, prior to which she held senior executive roles with software and services companies.
The company also announced its executive director and former Fuji Xerox MD, Philip Chambers will replace David Ward as group general manager of Print Services Australia, following Ward’s retirement on 27 January.
