Art patrons keen to share content and tweets from the Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2013 will be able to do so at free Wi-Fi hotspots scattered around the festival areas.
The free service will be provided at places including Rundle Mall by ISP Internode who has sponsored Fringe for the past 10 years.
According to Internode founder Simon Hackett, the hotspots will allow arts patrons to easily find what shows are on and where during the festival.

According to festival organisers, Adelaide Fringe is Australia’s largest arts event with more than 900 events at pop-up venues in parks, warehouses, lane-ways and empty buildings around the city. It runs from February 17 to March 15 2013.
Internode has ramped up its involvement with the arts in South Australia. It is also a sponsor for next year’s World of Music Arts and Dance (WOMAD) Adelaide leg and will live stream selected performances in HD via its content delivery network (CDN) from March 8 to 11. The CDN is a network of servers spread across multiple locations designed to deliver content where high performance or high reliability are required.
Hackett said that the rationale behind the live streaming is to make WOMADelaide accessible to music-lovers who can’t attend the festival in person.
“It is important to note that these streamed performances are fully rights-cleared, properly negotiated live performance recordings from, and in support of, the artists concerned,” he said in a statement.
“It’s a win-win in terms of exposure for the artists and the creation of content available online, both during and after the event, through the CDN.”
