ASE IT moves into iseek’s Sydney data centre

Company selected Gore Hill site as part of Australian expansion

Cloud services provider ASE IT has signed a contract with iseek Communications to move into the vendor’s data centre in Gore Hill, Sydney.

According to ASE IT’s chief sales and marketing officer David McGrath, the expansion was driven by Australian customers and international clients with an Australian presence wanting to have group synchronisation among all their cloud, data centre and infrastructure services.

“Rather than having one client sitting in London and another in Sydney and running cables all the way through, we can connect through from data centre to data centre,” he said in a statement.

“This means we have the power to not only move into some of those territories but provide the connectivity and networking that allows us to easily move data globally.”

ASE IT currently has data centres in Sydney, Melbourne, California and New Jersey with new locations to be built in London, Singapore and Hong Kong by the end of 2013.

Avoiding the data centre property trap

According to iseek Communication’s general manager Hugh Smith, the growing number of businesses located in northern Sydney was driving demand for hosting facilities.

“We know a lot of customers want to have their cloud-based infrastructure geographically close to them,” he said.
