Telstra unveils SportsFan app

App will allow viewers to watch the Clubhouse which is streamed live four days a week

Telstra has launched an iOS and Android app called SportsFan for viewers to watch its sports show, The Clubhouse.

The show, which was launched in April, is streamed live via online, mobile, tablet and T-Box IPTV from Monday to Thursday 8pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST).

According to Telstra, the app uses technology called R U Watching This (RUWT) developed by the company which allows fans to vote on live sports matches. The voting system will help select the best games of the day.

Users can also select their favourite sports or teams and receive notifications such as the ability to set score alerts.

“For example if you’re a rugby league fan and your team is about to upset the premiers, you’ll get a personal alert to tune in and check the score,” said Telstra media executive director Mark Buckman in a statement.
