Optus delivers cloud services to NextDC data centres

Telco offers PowerON services at NextDC sites

Optus today announced it will offer its PowerON cloud services at Melbourne-based data centre provider NextDC's sites.

The telco said it had completed laying fibre to NextDC's data centres in Brisbane, Canberra and Melbourne, linking the data centres to Optus' Evolve Network.

Optus will complete running fibre to the data centre provider's under construction P1 Perth data centre and the S1 Sydney data centre sites in "the coming months".

"Optus' relationship with NEXTDC significantly expands the availability of Optus Evolve and PowerON cloud services across our national data centre assets," Optus Business managing director John Paitaridis said in a statement

"Combined with Optus' existing data centres, this now gives Optus Business one of the most significant data centre footprints in Australia."

Earlier this year Australia Post and Pacnet announced they would house racks in NextDC's M1 data centre in Melbourne.
