Global One launches international Web hosting

Global One Communications, the joint venture between Deutsche Telekom AG, France Telecom SA and Sprint Corp, will now offer its corporate customers international Web hosting services with the opening of new data centres in London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Sao Paulo.

The new services are designed to give Global One's mainly multinational customers and prospective customers the opportunity to outsource their Web operations to the global telco alliance, Global One officials said.

Included in the new offerings is a basic service geared towards small and medium-sized businesses. Both the basic service and the advanced service, directed at Global One's core target of large multinational companies, offer at least 2Gbytes of IP (Internet Protocol) traffic volume per month, along with e-mail accounts, backup and Web site statistics.

The alliance previously only had data centres in Germany and the US.
