Data#3 picks up Chubb's Microsoft licensing

Chubb Security Holdings has selected Data#3 as its provider of Microsoft licensing services in Australia and New Zealand. The move to switch suppliers was made following an audit of Chubb's desktop systems by Deloitte Touche.

Under the terms of the agreement Chubb will operate a standard Microsoft environment for its 2100 desktop systems and will be able to purchase miscellaneous applications and server products as required. The deal covers 86 sites in Australia and seven sites in New Zealand.

"Essentially we made a decision based on experience and service," explained Peter Gasparovic, general manager of IT for Chubb. "We liked Data#3's Microsoft licensing e-commerce site that allows complete and accurate tracking of all software purchases online. It takes away the headache of tracking and budgeting of our desktop software," he added.
