NextDC's P1 on track

Data centre to be formally opened in February

NextDC this morning announced the completion of base building at the P1 data centre site in Perth. P1 is 13km out of Perth's CBD. The data centre will have 3000 square metres of space for customers, housing up to 1300 racks and delivering up to 5.5 megawatts of power.

"The on time and on budget achievement of this milestone completes the Company's current capital recycling program," said a NextDC ASX statement issued today.

P1, along with the Sydney S1 data centre and Melbourne M1 data centre, will be owned by Asia Pacific Data Centre, a data centre real estate investment trust established by NextDC. The company will lease P1 back to NextDC.

The WA data centre will have its formal opening in February.

NextDC earlier this year cut the ribbon on its S1 data centre in Sydney.
