Queensland Rail has released a request for offer (RFO) for the establishment of an ICT delivery services and assurance panel.
The number of IT providers selected for the panel will be decided by the state rail operator. The contract will be for three years.
According to RFO documents, Queensland Rail is seeking a number of partners to provide technology delivery services including SAP human resources and payroll, financials, asset management, logistics and supply chain.

The successful IT partners would also need to look after integration/custom development, data warehouse, IT infrastructure design and third party system implementation.
Queensland Rail ICT supports and maintains approximately 370 business applications such as SAP solutions, intranet and Internet, read the documents.
In addition, it also looks after internal custom applications ranging from .NET based ticketing applications to Microsoft Access solutions as well as third party applications.
“Queensland Rail supports two primary data warehouse platforms, SAP Business Objects business intelligence [BI] and an Informatica extract, transform load [ETL] tool,” read the documents.
“It is Queensland Rail’s intention to rationalise the application portfolio over the next two to five years with a focus on improved utilisation of the SAP investment.”
The RFO closes on 25 March 2014.
