In brief: Thiess announces NBN contract win

Field services contract renewal worth up to $183 million over two years for Leighton Holdings subsidiary

NBN Co has extended its contract Leighton Holdings subsidiary Thiess, with the construction company set to rake in up to $183 million over two years, with the option for a 12-month extension.

The contract covers the connection of premises to the National Broadband Network in the ACT, New South Wales and Queensland.

The construction company will be connecting up to 170,000 premises per year under the contract, which expands Thiess' current field services delivery contract with NBN Co. That contract was due to expire this month.

The contract includes laying fibre to premises from the street and installing NBN boxes in homes and businesses.

Universal Communications Group this morning revealed details of a bulk drop contract with NBN Co.
