Sydney-based Web hosting provider, Crucial, has acquired Sydney domain hosting and registration firm, AVS Networks, for an undisclosed sum.
Under the agreement, AVS Networks customers will be migrated across to Crucial’s infrastructure during February 2015. Crucial CEO Ijan Kruizinga said a detailed migration plan has been developed to ensure that all services are transferred to Crucial with no disruption to customers.
A Crucial spokesperson said the company would not be disclosing how many customers it had taken on as a result of the acquisition.
CEO and founder of AVS Networks, Nigel Burke, will join Crucial following the acquisition.
“Crucial’s interest in AVS Networks was validation for what AVS has achieved thanks to your support, and is something we can be proud about. After discussions in late 2014 and early 2015, the decision was made to accept the offer,” said Burke in a statement on the AVS Networks website.
“I'm extremely happy about where we’ve taken AVS Networks and the milestones made along the way. I’m excited to continue working with you and trust everyone will enjoy the improved service levels with Crucial as we continue to provide for all of your hosting needs,” he said.
Burke added that all AVS Networks customers will receive emails about the changes and improvements being made to their services.
“The acquisition will benefit AVS Networks customers with added resources, fantastic support and high performance infrastructure,” he said.
For example, customers will be offered 24/7 technical support and distributed denial of service (DDoS) protection by Crucial.
AVS Networks was founded in 1997.
