Digital Pacific acquires Crucial

No planned changes to operations says Digital Pacific founder Andrew Koloadin

Sydney-based Web hosting provider Digital Pacific has acquired another Sydney hosting provider, Crucial.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The two firms will continue to trade separately under the Digital Pacific and Crucial brands with a total of 70 staff. Crucial will operate from its current office.

According to Digital Pacific founder and CEO, Andrew Koloadin, the acquisition brings together two customer-focused hosting companies and will generate “significant benefits” for customers.

“Our stories are quite similar, both starting in small Bondi apartments over 12 years ago growing to the established brands we are today. This has fostered very similar, customer-focused cultures at both organisations,” he said in a statement.

Koloadin added that there are no planned changes to operations and both businesses will continue to operate as usual.

Crucial CEO David Murray said he was looking forward to joining the Digital Pacific team.

“It [the acquisition] will present a great opportunity for our customers with additional resources, fantastic support and high performance infrastructure.”

In February, Digital Pacific joined the federal government’s cloud services panel.

The panel covers software-as-a-service, platform-as-a-service and infrastructure-as-a-service, as well as services such as optimisation and integration of cloud services.
