PowerDialer.co takes top spot at Startup Weekend Brisbane

Outbound call service takes first place at event

PowerDialer.co, an online service designed to streamline contact centres' outbound calls, took the top spot at Startup Weekend Brisbane.

Two hundred people in 22 teams participated in the event, which involves building a new startup over the course of a weekend.

For their efforts, the PowerDialer.co team will receive $10,000 of Amazon Web Services credits, mentoring from CUA and a two-month membership of co-working space River City Labs.

Teams had pitch in front of a panel of judges that included River City Labs co-founder (and Shark Tank 'shark') Steve Baxter; Amazon Web Services local startup chief Ian Gardiner; Craig Lambert, a co-founder of Slingshot Investments; and Sue Coulter, general manager, business transformation and technology, at CUA.

River City Labs played host for the weekend, and Prime Minister Tony Abbott dropped in during the event.
