NSW utilities sign IT support contract with UXC

Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy sign $25m contract

Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy have signed a three-year IT support contract with UXC.

The contract is worth more than $25 million according to UXC, including two optional two-year extensions.

"Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy went through a rigorous procurement process," UXC managing director Cris Nicolli said in a statement.

The contract covers service desk and end user computing support services, UXC said.

"UXC's ability to meet core requirements around enhanced services, delivery quality and cost reduction through innovative approaches to service delivery, demonstrated our competitiveness to win the contract," Nicolli said.

"This multi-year contract is strategically important for UXC. Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy are significant companies in the Australian market and the contract award continues our success in winning the trust of clients over multi-year contracts, adding to our annuity services portfolio.

"It also provides the opportunity to support and extend the business relationship with Ausgrid and Endeavour into the future."

Ausgrid has been a UXC customer since 2003.

Earlier this week UXC had announced "strategic and significant contract wins" worth in excess of $100 million, including the Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy contract, which was listed only as "a NSW government agency."

Other contracts included Transpower New Zealand, a "global listed beverage company", an "Australian based construction company" and Ixom, a former Orica group company.
