Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) has appointed Nathan McGregor as its new Australia and New Zealand vice president and general manager.

He replaces Neil Evans who left the company in April after serving over two years as regional vice president and GM. Evans had been with HDS for 8 years.

The role was covered in the interim by Asia Pacific vice president of sales operations Basil Botoulas.

McGregor will be responsible for leading the vendor’s operations including growing market share within its core business of IT infrastructure, analytics, content and cloud services.

He comes to the vendor from Juniper Networks where he worked as A/NZ managing director. McGregor also served as its Telstra account director for almost five years, Telstra major account manager for a year, and as its major accounts manager for almost four years.

"Nathan’s extensive experience leading high-value, complex solutions sales is well suited to support our growing portfolio of technology and services," said Mark Ablett, HDS Asia Pacific senior vice president and general manager.
