KAZ wins $6 million WA services contract

Telstra-owned ICT services company KAZ has been awarded a $6 million contract to provide ICT services to Western Australia superannuation fund manager Government Employee Superannuation Board, or GESB.

KAZ will also provide asset divestment and infrastructure management services as part of the deal.

The contract will see KAZ servicing ownership transfer of a technology asset base, infrastructure and capacity consolidation and provisioning, and provisioning of bureau services. Facilities management services will include project-contract transition and management, desktop, server and LAN administration, database administration, service desk operations, disaster recovery, and hosting.

With 270,000 members and $6.5 billion in funds under management, GESB is WA's largest superannuation fund. It is a not-for-profit organization for current and former employees of the WA public sector and their partners.

Mike Foster, chief executive officer of KAZ, said it will supply GESB with local services for the next three years.

"KAZ will provide GESB with benefits such as ICT services, data centre hosting, including enhanced disaster recovery capability, suited to local conditions," Foster said.
