Telstra scores three-year Medibank contract

Health fund consolidates telco suppliers

Telstra will be the exclusive provider of telecommunications services to Medibank Private under a three year contract the details of which were revealed today.

The multi-million-dollar contract includes, mobile, voice and data carriage, managed WAN and LAN services, and service management, Telstra said in a statement.

The deal includes the deployment of Skype for Business and refreshing networking gear.

Medibank expects to achieve savings of 37 per cent by consolidating its telco partners from eight down to one.

"Our new, enhanced partnership with Telstra means we can streamline and consolidate our network into one provider, enhance our service levels through improved innovation and new technologies and continue to help our members along their health journey both in and out of hospital," Medibank's COO, David Koczkar, said in a statement.

Medibank will be the first Telstra customer to implement the telco's Mobile Business Fleet Plus plans.
