Muru-D seeks more startups

10 startups will receive up to $60k seed capital investment

Telstra-backed startup accelerator, muru-D, is inviting applications from technology and media startups for its Sydney program.

As part of the agreement, one startup will receive mentoring and support from Seven West Media. The media company’s chief digital officer Clive Dickens will sit on the advisory board of the startup for six months.

The 10 successful startups will receive up to $60,000 seed capital investment, access to business support, a collaborative workspace, mentoring and coaching to help them expand.

Muru-D co-founder Annie Parker said Seven West Media has been an active mentor and supporter of muru-D since the launch of the academy in Australia.

“One of muru-D’s objectives is to grow and support the startup ecosystem in Australia. This means working with other corporations and organisations to help educate and advise them on the most meaningful way to participate,” she said.

Applications for the third class close on 31 October. Applications can be made via the muru-D website.

Eleven Australian startups were selected for the second intake of the muru-D accelerator program in October last year.

The startups train for six months at the accelerator, which is based in the Sydney suburb of Paddington.
