Dimension Data will deliver networking infrastructure to the Queensland government's new 1 William Street office.
Services to be delivered under the contract include secure wired and wireless networking, printing, video conferencing and team collaboration platforms.
The range of ICT services will also support mobile working through `always-on, anywhere and any-device’ access to government information and applications.
The 120,000 square metre building will house more than 5400 government employees from different agencies and is expected to open next year.
“Rather than adhering to the old-world model of purchasing and operating IT internally, the government has embraced a consumption model, where it only pays for the services it uses," said Dimension Data Australia CEO Rodd Cunico.
"This not only dramatically reduces the total cost of ownership of its IT infrastructure, but also ensures thousands of public servants can work smarter and collaborate more effectively,” he said.
Implementation of the IT services has begun and is expected to be completed by 1 July 2016, said Cunico.
In 2010, Dimension Data was awarded two standing offer arrangements (SOAs) under a Queensland government whole-of-government IT program. The contract was for three years, with two one year extensions available.
The vendor provided technology and services for security information and event management (SIEM) in partnership with RSA together with patch and vulnerability management (PVM) from Intel Security (formerly McAfee).
