NSW's commuters able to recharge Opal cards following online outage

Customers could still top up at retailers

Transport for NSW has restored the ability to commuters to add credit to their Opal cards using Opal.com.au after the site was taken down yesterday to address a processing issue.

A Transport for NSW spokesperson said that manual top-ups made at Opal.com.au had experienced delays.

"At no time has the integrity of the site or any customer information been compromised," the spokesperson said.

Opal top-up machines and the Opal directory of retailers, retailers.opal.com.au, were not affected by the issue.

The transport authority said yesterday on social media that the outage also lead to longer wait times on customer hotline 13 67 25.
