TAFE Queensland swaps Unisys for Fujitsu

Unisys replaced as principal ICT support partner after almost two decades

Fujitsu has scored a $60 million contract that will see it become TAFE Queensland’s principal ICT support partner.

The deal covers service desk, end user computing, network services and infrastructure management within TAFE Queensland’s six regions.

Fujitsu replaces Unisys, which has had an almost two-decade-long agreement with TAFE Queensland.

“As the largest and most experienced provider of further education and training in Queensland, it is essential we have access to the most innovative, efficient and effective ICT services,” TAFE Queensland CEO Jodi Schmidt said in a statement.

We’re excited to begin this new relationship with Fujitsu and to have their support as we continue to provide the market’s best training experience.”

Fujitsu said its contract with TAFE would deliver “significant cost savings” to the vocational training organisation.

The transition to the new arrangements is expected to be completed in early 2017.
