The University of Adelaide has begun a global search for a new chief information officer as its inaugural CIO, Mark Gregory, prepares to depart next month.
Flinders University revealed in early September that Gregory had been recruited as its vice-president, corporate services.
“As our inaugural CIO, Mark’s achievements have been many but include the implementation of a workforce in-sourcing strategy, establishment of an IT project selection framework, and the embedding of a pervasive customer service culture,” Adelaide Uni chief operating officer and vice-president Bruce Lines said at the time.
Gregory joined the university in July 2013 as its first standalone CIO.
“Over his term here he has presided over the Adelaide’s IT service desk winning the sector-wide IT Service Quality Benchmark two years in a row; it reflects an extraordinarily high level of satisfaction with services of the Technology Branch now mirrored in the university’s own recent Voice Survey results,” Lines said.
“Mark’s contribution to such projects as The Library of the Future, the university’s MOOC’s initiative and the Phoenix supercomputer has been pivotal.”
KPMG is aiding the university’s search for a new CIO to lead its 250-person Technology Branch and oversee an annual budget of $60 million.
