HP pushes OpenView trifecta

Hewlett-Packard has released Australian versions of three new enterprise software offerings as part of a concerted effort to take ground from competitors in the Asia-Pacific region.

The new products form part of the OpenView suite pitched at the enterprise management space and were showcased at the HP Software forum in Chicago in June.

The Antipodean offerings include:

* Business Impact Analysis, a tool for that correlates "business flows with underlying operations data" allowing enterprises to assess the cost of outages or infrastructure failures;

* Navigator Network Manager Advanced 7.0, a network trouble shooting and downtime reduction tool aimed at preventing outages from escalating and;

* Service Navigator Valuepack, a common data repository-based, IT resource management tool aimed at preventing SLA violations.

HP claims it has already received strong pre-shipping interest in all of the products that form part of the company's 'Adaptive Enterprise' positioning.
