L.M. Ericsson Telephone said Wednesday that it expects to sign frame agreements valued at $US550 million for the building of a fixed-line and expansion of mobile telecommunications networks in China's Guangdong province.
Ericsson is scheduled to sign the agreements with China Telecom Group Guangdong Corp. and Guangdong Mobile Communications Co., respectively, on Friday in Stockholm, the telecommunications equipment vendor said in a statement.
The Stockholm-based vendor is no stranger to the telecommunications operators in Guangdong, a province with a population of around 70 million in southern China.
Ericsson signed its first equipment delivery contract with the telecom authorities in Guangdong in 1983, the company said.
China is Ericsson's second largest market, surpassed only by the U.S.
