The Funk inTechnology

Gearing up for Australia's potential broadband explosion, US RADIUS developer Funk Software has set its sights on the Australian market signing up inTechnology as its operations base down under.inTechnology, a self-contained company derived from Logical Communications, has been contracted as a local office in both Australia and New Zealand, under the trading name of Funk Software Australia.

Eugene Chang, VP strategic business development, Funk Software, claims inTechnology was an obvious choice due to its experience in RADIUS authentication and familiarity with the Funk's products.

In addition to the launch of its Australian outfit, Funk is bringing two new products to market - the Steel-Belted Radius/Service Provider Edition and the Steel-Belted Radius Concurrency Server.

The products are designed to provide added functionality to the core function of Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) technology, which centralises the authentication, authorisation and accounting of remote access users.

In Australia for Funk's local launch, which coincides with the ISPCON 2000 conference in Melbourne was Joseph Kushi, Funk's director of international sales. Kushi believes Funk's presence in concert with its new and existing remote management products will mean big things for the channel as the country prepares for widespread adoption of broadband technology.

"Timing is everything. I would have liked to have been a Microsoft reseller 10 years ago, not one who's getting into it today," Fushi told ARN. "The time for resellers to come to us is today. Soon [the market] is going to be a feeding frenzy."Product is currently available, and a 30-day trial copy of Steel-Belted Radius/SPE can be downloaded from the Funk Software Web site at: www.funk.com.au
