TOKYO (02/01/2000) - Hansol PCS Co., a leading South Korean mobile telephone network operator, has officially changed its name to Hansol M.com Inc. effective today.
The letter M in the new name signifies mobility, said the company in a statement, while the .com suffix signifies the Internet, together indicating mobile Internet.
The company, which has a subscriber base of approximately 2.6 million users, is 21 percent owned by Bell Canada International Inc. and successfully completed an initial public offering in South Korea in December 1999.
