LONDON (02/01/2000) - Vodafone AirTouch PLC and Casio Computer Co. Ltd. have agreed to develop mobile wireless products with Internet capabilities, a Vodafone spokeswoman said today.
The first product will be a part of a mobile phone that will use Vodafone's worldwide networks to access the Internet. The Japanese device manufacturer and the U.K. telecommunications company will also develop a handheld Internet terminal product, the Vodafone spokeswoman said.
The first product should be ready for shipping in this year's second half, she added.
Vodafone and Casio later today will release a joint statement outlining the agreement.
