Defence outsources voice in $3m deal

The Department of Defence (DoD) has outsourced management of its voice communications network throughout Queensland to Cable & Wireless Optus (C&W Optus) in a deal worth $3 million.

The contract covers management of all carrier services, billing services including allocation of all supplier bills to cost centres, provision of help desk services and management of voice network equipment including PABXs, desk handsets and mobile phones.
