Brennan IT upgrades IaaS as part of Cloud services revenue push

IT services provider Brennan IT has spent $1.5 million on upgrading its infrastructure as a service (IaaS) platform, with the company forecasting that Cloud will make up 30 per cent of its revenue in 2012.

The company has deployed new EMC VNX storage area networks (SANs) in order to increase capacity and also migrated from HP earlier this year to a Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS).

According to managing director, Dave Stevens, the SAN upgrade meant the company could deploy disaster recovery offerings and management tools.

At present, the Cloud services sector is worth $2 million in revenue per month, with 150 customers using the IaaS offerings.

“Cloud is set to make up 30 per cent of company revenue over the next 12 months,” he said.

“Every project we do has at least one Cloud component, and an increasing number of projects are totally Cloud-based.”

Some recent companies to sign up with the company have included furniture retailer Super A-Mart, logistics firm Northline, and the Rendezvous Hospitality Group.

“This upgrade means that our infrastructure will continue to perform for our clients as more come on board and larger workloads are virtualized,” Stevens said.
