Data#3 general manager Mark Esler retires

Data#3’s (ASX: DTL) Queensland general manager Mark Esler has retired after 30 years at the system integrator.

Esler was a founding director of Data#3 in 1984. Before becoming Queensland general manager, he was general manager of product solutions.

Prior to joining the company, he began his career in the IT industry at IBM in 1976.

Data#3 managing director John Grant said Esler had made a “significant contribution” over 30 years.

“I offer thanks for the enormous and invaluable contribution he has made. His experience, calm and considered thought will be sorely missed,” Grant said in a statement.

He added that Ray Merlano has been appointed acting Queensland general manager until a replacement is found.

In August 2013, the company reported a 5 per cent revenue slide to $771 million for the financial year (FY) ended 30 June 2013. This compared to revenues of $811.3 million in FY 2012.

The company attributed the drop to decreased product revenues as a result of changes in the way some software licensing contracts were transacted. Product revenue decreased 7.2 per cent to $639.6 million while services revenue rose 8.1 per cent to $130.1 million.
