Nextlink Unveils Set of Broadband Net Services

FRAMINGHAM (04/19/2000) - Nextlink Communications is filling a gap in its offerings by adding a new battery of broadband Internet services to its voice portfolio.

The new services, dubbed Generation Next, include digital subscriber line (DSL) Internet access and Web hosting, as well as additions to its local and long-distance services.

Internet access will be provided via DSL, fixed wireless links or fiber-optic lines. Nextlink DSL is available in speeds up to 1.5M bit/sec, while fixed wireless or fiber connections support speeds up to 48M bit/sec.

The carrier will also offer integrated voice and Internet data services over a single T-1 circuit, as well as services in which Nextlink manages the customer-site equipment.

The company has launched Nextlinkhost, its dedicated and shared Web hosting, which includes tools for setting up Web sites.

Some of the services are private-labeled services Nextlink wholesales from Concentric Networks. Nextlink is in the process of buying Concentric.
