FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (05/03/2000) - Looking to strengthen its Enterprise Performance Management data analysis software suite, PeopleSoft Inc. has bought Advance Planning Solutions Inc. (APS), which makes software for business modeling, PeopleSoft announced today.
PeopleSoft didn't disclose the terms of the cash transaction, which has been approved by the companies' boards but needs regulatory approval.
The APS software lets users do business planning, financial analysis and econometric modeling and will be "linked" with PeopleSoft applications, according to PeopleSoft.
It wasn't clear from the release how closely the APS software will be integrated with PeopleSoft's Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) suite of data analysis software. However, Chuck Teller, APS' chief executive officer, has been named general manager of PeopleSoft's EPM product group, according to PeopleSoft.
