Revenue for global broadband satellite networks will shoot up from $200 million this year to $37 billion in 2008, according to a report issued by Pioneer Consulting LLC.
The report, Next Generation Broadband Satellite Networks, said residential service will represent the majority of the revenue. Residential service is expected to generate $21.7 billion in revenue, while business service will represent $15.96 billion, Pioneer Consulting said.
The North American market will be the largest for broadband service, the report predicted. Asia will come in second place, driven by the popularity of residential broadband satellite access, Pioneer Consulting said.
