PowerLAN and INS merge

Systems integrator, PowerLAN and communications specialist, International Networking Solutions (INS) are joining forces to become a national IT services company.

The new entity will trade under the name of PowerLAN and will specialise in on-site network services and remote electronic delivery.

Theo Baker, managing director of PowerLAN, said the new entity will create a $60-70 million company with 250 people.

Baker said PowerLAN and INS have had a working relationship for around 12 months. PowerLAN began working with INS when it expanded it operations into Melbourne.

According to Baker, the new company will operate nationally with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Canberra and plans to expand to Perth and New Zealand.

The company is also in the process of completing the implementation of an electronic delivery system, however Baker was not prepared to discuss the project.
